In packed disturbed soil by pathway. Cap 6 cm., whitish with yellow brown scales. Gills dark brown, crowded, free. Stem 2 cm. × 1.5 cm., whitish below to tan and longitudinally ridged above sheathed ring, white mycelia at base. Flesh of cap and stem white, darker where bug infested. Not yellowing when bruised or cut. Mild odor. Pleasant taste. Black brown spore deposit. KOH negative on cap margin.
