I thought about going to Columbia just to take that class! Maybe next year :) There are some very good places to hunt off the 108, Columbia being one of them.

Nice! We found some of these near pinecrest lake on the 26th. I was out with a Columbia Community College field course.

on the exact log in this picture. It almost looks like Cornus nuttallii (pacific dogwood), which was common in this park. But I found this species of Pholiota quite a few times throughout the park and it was usually on conifers. I would call it Pholiota aurivella but honestly I’m not sure if that can be determined macroscopically.
