Observation 150373: Sarcodontia setosa (Pers.) Donk

Very large spreading fruiting covering a large portion of horizontal dead log, some of it emerging from beneath the bark. Forest of mixed hardwoods, mostly red oak but also post and blackjack oak; some conifers. Appeared to be on red oak. This fruiting was found with Jerry Nickelsburg and Gwynn Quillen of the LA Mycological Society while at the 2013 Annual NAMA Foray in Arkansas.
