Wow, didn’t realize it was so rare there

Come to think of it, I have no idea what its distribution is. I just learned about it the other day when Trevor Goward corrected two of my C. “verruculosa” from eastern WA. Congratulations are apparently in order for locating a modern record of the species in WI! Way to go!

I guess so – and I thought it was C.squamosa

But this species was once found in Dane County (where I live) and nowhere else in Wisconsin, except that place has been plowed under. I guess now we have another location. I wonder how many times this species is overlooked because people think it’s C.squamosa?

I would have called this C. squamosa for sure. But the chemistry is totally different, maybe that’s key…
