The stalk was hollow, a little bit fluffy on the inside. Did not really bruise or stain. The gill attachment is best described as notched. Smell resembled recently cut grass, or muddy field after rain. Did not taste.

can be important aids to coming up with an ID—also staining and bruising reactions. It’s also helpful to give info on habitat and a photo of specimens cut longitudinally can provide valuable information on the color and texture of the flesh, thickness of gills etc.

I would love to know what this mushroom is, beyond Tricholoma…
