Observation 151169: Amanita sect. Vaginatae sensu Zhu L. Yang

When: 2013-11-03

Collection location: Franklin Parker Preserve, Speedwell, New Jersey, USA [Click for map]

39.776° -74.5354°

Who: I. G. Safonov (IGSafonov)

Specimen available

Notes:
Three small specimens growing in sand in the middle of a dirt road. The caps are dark gray (not reddish-brown as the pix suggest), with grayish, little cottony patches of volva.
These don’t look like A. dulciarii, though we found three specimens of the “confectioner’s amanita” in a close proximity to this collection.
