and I think I have answered my own question (previous comment). “Dealbata” is a European name. The subspecies sudorifica applies to NA material.

Although gill spacing for C. dealbata subsp. sudorifica is variously listed as “close” to “crowded” (Miller lists the spacing as close), my collection seen here looks exactly like the photo seen in Miller’s “North American Mushrooms.” To my eye, the gill spacing on my collection, as well as the one seen in Miller, straddles the boundary between “close” and “subdistant.” Other collections I have IDed as dealbata (will revise) have shown a similar spacing in the gills.
