I noticed these candystick, and pulled a U turn.
I worked up the incline and ended up with 15 pine mushrooms!

The candystick was at the edge of the road. There was only up slope, and laterally.
This was the first time I was able to map the lines, and find a whole bunch.

“candystick” reference. And sort of recognize the searching up the slope. But why not down the slope?

Can’t tell for sure but it looks like the third photo shows a white cottony partial veil? That and the reddish fibers on the stem make me think of T. magnivelare as a possibility. In the east we find it with pine.
