Observation 152156: Agaricales sensu lato
When: 2013-11-14
( 1463m)

Notes: Habitat: white fir, Shasta red fir. Cap margin about 3cm above ground, stipe very deeply buried. Note that knife in photograph is slightly over 14cm long.

The clustered, younger specimens were located about 300 feet away from the first group. I left them in place, undisturbed, and can return to the site for additional photos.

The mushrooms in the second-to-last (sixth) picture are Gomphidius, probably G. glutinosus, based on the viscid purplish-gray cap, yellow stipe base, and partial veil
