Observation 154365: Mycena purpureofusca (Peck) Sacc.
When: 2013-11-23

Notes: Growing on a log.

Spores 10-13 × 6-10. Basidia 4-spored, ~35=5 × 10. Cheilocystidia ~45 × 13.

A much smaller purpureofusca than the one in Observation 154360 but both sizes fit into the range given by Perry (MSc thesis on Mycena in California). Perry also takes the presence of clamps as normal, contrary to Maas G. There is also a big difference in the number of gills reaching stipe; here we have 12-13, which is below the range Perry gives (18-30).
