Near San Lorenzo river.

This was found at the southern part of Henry Cowell State park, off a trail along the San Lorenzo river. The trail is very close to the river so there could easily be flooding during heavy rains there.

Well, there’s something you don’t see every day. Of species known from California, this specimen is a decent match for A. sequoiae. I haven’t seen it south of Marin Co. before. An ecological prediction: this might have been found in the main grove at Henry Cowell, or at least where there is occasional silt deposition from flooded creeks into redwood flats. Yes?
