Recognized by sight: “clearly” has usnic acid (how often photos lie though!), fine soredia throughout rules out C. borealis and C. coccifera, lack of red apothecia or pycnidia around the rims of the cups rules out C. pleurota, short cups rules out C. deformis and C. sulphurina
