Observation 155604: Mycena metata (Fr.) P. Kumm.
When: 2013-11-08

Notes: Growing on bark mulch in Richard Tullis’s backyard. Caps up to 3.5 cm across. Cap tops vinaceous red that remains after drying. Gills gray-rose. Caps were probably viscid; two dried ones are glued to each other.

Basidia 2-spored (some 1-spored), 20 × 7. Spores 9-11 × 4.5-5.5. Cheilocystidia form a sterile band, most long-stemmed, some appearing sessile; 22.5-45 × 12-20.
