… quite common here at this time of the year. I don’t know about the existence of H. mesotephrus in Portugal, but I think that is a much smaller species than H. personii and lighter coloured.

it looks like persoonii, but I don’t know if Portugal has other similar species.
H. persooni should be growing with oak.

the bands on the stem are not very prominent. I doubt a bit. Look also at Hygrophorus mesotephrus which sometimes can be very similar but shows a typical greenish KOH reaction applied to the cap. I think there are other similar Mediterraneans too but have my keys not with me right now.
