Observation 156221: Tricholoma (Fr.) Staude
When: 2010-02-18

Notes: Growing on the ground in a live oak habitat.
Caps up to 6.6 cm across.
Gills fairly thick and almost free.
White cortina-like hairs noticeable onsome over gills and on upper portions of stipe(possibly hypomyces?)
Cap flesh was rather gelatinous and pale grayish.
Stipe split easily and partially hollow/stuffed.
Few pale colored spores obtained from print.
Spores ~ 6.6-9.0 X 5.0-6.8 microns, broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, smooth.
Odor seemed somewhat farinaceous.
FBs dried up dark brown for the most part.
This is an old collection that I had put aside but am still not sure of where they belong.
