definitely no sitka spruce…

…and the context was very dark. Bob Sellers collected it, I can ask him the habitat. I did get context photos, but haven’t downloaded them yet. what else might it be?

Sarcodon cyanellus is suppose to fruit with Sitka spruce. I have not heard of it from central CA. Did you happen to get any more photos, especially of the cut flesh?
