Fruiting body is roughly round, size 7-12cm dia., potato like, brown-yellow, peridium hard, thickness about 0.5-1cm , surface scally or striated.

like Geaster is typical for S. polyrhizum, formerly S. geaster. Need data on thickness of peridium.
