Found 11/19/2013. Found in leaf litter around white oaks. Leaf litter was thick. Only the caps were visible. Leaf litter moist but not wet. Was lightly raining when I found the specimans. Last couple of days mixed sun and clouds. 11/19 was cloudy all day with a very light rain. Temperatures have been in the mid 60’s falling into the 40’s at night. Dew has been moderate.
Found at Fox Hill Pond Bowie, Md.
Gills attached. Cap and stem light voilet. Rich and pleasent odor.
Cap smooth, dry, and measures 5cm x 6cm. Bruises a darker shade of violet.
Gills very close, sharp and deep. Attached to stype.
Stype is short and stocky. Solid being very dense. Stains a little when bruised but not as much as the cap.
Small bulb is just under the surface. It is dry and some what scaly measuring 3 and half cm.
Spore print when first observed was a rich creeam color. A day later it changede to a tan cream. Spore print was taken over a 15 hour period.
I noticed the specimans loose some of their color after being picked turning to more of a cream color with a slight hint of violet.
