Oluna still have this collection at home, but she says that it would be better to work from the fresh material that might be available in this time of the year. Can we send you some material if we find it again?

Morphology might be a little off

It is hard to tell from the photos, but this looks somewhat different from typical specimens of Sarea difformis I have examined. The apothecia are almost olivaceous in your photos, or maybe just dusty. The micromorphology is also difficult to assess. The asci look polysporous, but it is a little difficult to see many more features of the hymenium and excipulum in the photos.

Retinocyclus abietis has been in synonymy with the name Sarea difformis for 36 years, per Hawksworth and Sherwood’s article A reassessment of three widespread resinicolous discomycetes in the Canadian Journal of Botany in 1981.
