Observation 158692: Amanita muscaria (L.) Lam.
When: 2014-01-27
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found at the base of a type of pine tree with bratches forming very low to the ground and additional specimens collected at the base of adjacent tree (guessing some sort of oak)

seem to be quite fresh forming in recent days, the temprature here is unusually low for this time of year, nights have been between 7 and 11 degrees celcius.

patch of specimens spread over approximately 20 to 30 square meters, some small groupings of two and three, with a larger num ber of stand alone specimens.

color range from redish orange through to toast brown on the larger and older cracked caps, stems thick and bulbus at the base, with some having drooping curtain veils, others with fallen veils with some partially atteched. One or two still with veil complete and unpopped.

I would appreciate further guidance on these have done some research am very familare with Cubensis of various sub species but however due to the some what possible hazardous toxic effects, while not being a typical (lets trip bananas) psychadelic astronaught I respect nature and her secrets as sacred.

so any light to be shed would much appreciated, feel free to repost and re use pics.
