adding microscopic data

Hi Brian,
I understand what happened. It’s my fault. But, in principle, one can post an observation of which he doesn’t know the name at the beginning, but after a while he wants to add microscopic data (or chemical data, or references). In case that somebody else wants to help him and proposes the correct name before the observation owner wants to add microscopic data, he cannot (that the owner can not add correct name a second time is of cause OK an redundant). Therefore a help of a friend results in owner’s inability to add microscopic or chemical data, that is to fully edit his observation. I believe it would be better to have full editing power even in case that somebody else has proposed the correct name of the observation. But, don’t worry, it not a big issue.

Normally you would click edit below the proposed name to add that, but since you did not propose the name you can’t edit it. Maybe you can ask Gerhard to edit in what you want?

don’t find the wax out

I don’t know how Christian. If I click ‘Edit observation’ the form displayed doesn’t allow adding neither ‘Based on microscopic features’ data nor ‘Used references’ data, but one can edit other things. Only if I click ‘Propose another name’ the ‘Based on microscopic features’ and ‘Used references’ (along with ‘Recognized by sight’ and ‘Based on chemical features’) input fields are displayed. But, one should enter also the ‘Proposed name’ at the same time to close the form. Because Gerhard already entered the correct name in the meantime the system doesn’t accept the same name twice and the form does not want to close. The only option one has is to enter a different (wrong) name. It is possible that I overlooked something, but I don’t find a solution. Any idea?

I figured it was a mistake

Of cause Strobilomyces strobilaceus. But now I don’t find the way how to put references and microscopy data to the right place in the form? One can edit the second part of the form only if a new name is proposed at the same time. But the correct name has been already proposed and it is not accepted the second time. Don’t find the way out.
