Yes, it was an Orthopteran. I have forwarded ýour question to the biologist holding the insect on photo PA180688.JPG. Let me quote the answer: I would actually go so far to say it is not a cricket but a grasshopper, and from the size of the animal, it is probably in the family Acrididae (rather than the small Eumastacidae).
