Agree’d. I just put the name up there as a possibility. I sure as heck aint claiming to know what it is. Totally open to suggestion. Would C. fimbriatus be too far fetched?

Cottony does not sound like C. mollis, which is viscid, and has a more skin-like cap. C. mollis in the strict sense actually isn’t brown, it is more off-white cream. When it is brown it is C. calopis, depending on the author there though…

Good point. I don’t think it was. It also wasn’t as brown/cream as I thought it should be for C. mollis. The ‘cap’ was white and cottony.
