Small, most growing on fir needles.
Caps up to 6 mm across by 6 mm high.
Stipes up to 25 mm X 1 mm thick.
Spore print white and not amyloid.
Spores ~ 7.8-10.0 X 4.1-5.0 microns, mostly elongate and smooth.
They seemed to develop reddish stains on all parts where bruised.
Spores too long for M. maculata and other features don’t match.
