I use the term type loosely here. Didn’t Pollack find this species only once in the wild? That would make this a clonotype. It would be a good idea to get as much DNA as possible from the type collections since species names are fixed by the type collection.

No DNA

I don’t have any type specimens. I study them in the herbarium and leave them there. Vicky has tried to extract DNA from many of the Psilocybe type collections that aren’t too old. Note that this observation is not a type collection, it’s cultivated, probably with genetics from the type collection.
