Observation 1604: Hebeloma (Fr.) P. Kumm.

When: 2006-12-09

Collection location: Albion, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Ok, this is the second year I have found these. Cute little buttons here, last year someone found larger more domed ones, with a slightly darked brown cap (kinda a light tan color). I have a spore print, that I will get around to photo’ing here, and it is brown. Not sure if you want to call it light brown, or dark brown, or rusty-brown, I’ll just call it brown.

Something about these looks like Hebeloma, with no veil, but not sure. They are fairly small mushrooms, but just another LBJ type Hebeloma here…
