Found this crust after two weeks of no rain—dull brown and cracked in its dry state. The first three photos show it after being rehydrated in a nearby stream.

Recognized by sight: Gray brown crust on the underside of dead limb of living mesquite tree. Tremella mesenterica on same limb, See obs 161641.
