Observation 16185: Stropharia cyanea (Bull.) Tuom.

When: 2009-01-09

Collection location: Fort Stevens State Park, Clatsop Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: smilacina

No specimen available

Notes:
My friend found this growing sand in the dune grasses near Psilocybe azurescens and Clitocybe nuda. (rotting wood nearby).Unfortunately the specimen was lost before i could key it out. Also unfortunately i didn’t get to see the base. Approx. 2" – 3" tall, cap maybe 1 – 1 1/2" across. I didn’t look close at gill attachment (unfortunately!?!), but do remember they were a lovely pale shell pink. Stem and cap = Striking bright robin’s egg blue color.
Never seen anything like it! Help??
