No herbarium specimen

Notes: A strange one. Too small and dingy (not white-gilled enough) for L. albissimus. Peaked young caps.
Hard-textured firm stipes, spongy-gelatinous coating over lower stipe merging into mycelial mat.
Under redwood. Sort of foul musty-medicinal smell.

Young cap margin strongly ribbed-crenate

Something like L. paradoxus perhaps?
