Observation 162915: Boletellus deceptivus Halling & Fechner

When: 2014-04-06

Collection location: Minyon Falls, New South Wales, Australia [Click for map]

Who: Steve Axford (steveaxford)

No specimen available

There were lots of these shaggy boletes growing near the top of Minyon Falls, where it is a wet sclerophyll forest. I couldn’t identify this purple species though it is similar (except the colour) to Boletellus ananaeceps.
