Sorry, I misunderstood the question! I have not done any research on the differences and I did not know that they were different. Do we have any DNA from north America we can compare to the European species? What are the morphological differences?

I have been wondering too, why these are always called Exidia recisa. Maybe my fault..? Exidia recisa is the closest european lookalike – but not a perfect match.
I can’t find any sequenced material from North America close to it either..
