Mycena rugulosiceps vs. Mycena galericulata

Mycena rugulosiceps is not a homotypic synonym of Mycena galericulata and should not be automatically replaced by the latter. There is no “Mycena rugulosiceps” in GenBank and 20 DNA sequneces of “Mycena galericulata” are quite heterogeneous.
Index/Species Fungorum is an ultimate guide for the nomenclature (especially for the MO needs), but its taxonomical suggestions are based on the literature resources only and those can be wrong. See also Sava Krstic’s comment at
