Notes: Among Redwoods and Bay Laurels, by the side of the road. Many of these were fruiting. The caps of older fruiting bodies were curved upward (like a broken umbrella). I collected a few prime-looking specimens, and a few minutes later they seemed more aged than the “older” mushrooms in the ground —the fragile stems were very flimsy and the caps, streaked with black, were even more curled up.
