I think you’re right, Alan. I was swayed by a rule of thumb suggesting that A. semotus is way more common than A. diminutivus, and I didn’t think these were small enough. The clavate, white stem and mycelial threads of A. semotus (and not this collection) sway me back.

Why not Agaricus diminutivus? It looks more like that then most of the A. semotus pictures. A. semotus looks more bloated with a bulging white stem.
