Recognized by sight: are you referring to the red staining in the cracks on the cap of the second photo? That is typical for Agaricus of any section when damaged. The veil and stature look like A. sect Xanthodermati. Red-stainers are rare in our county, and this doesn’t look like any of the other CA central coast species that I know. A. pattersonae has a much dark-brown pigmented cap with rings around the base of the stem, a different PV (more flocculent-membranous) and is quite range-restricted, growing under cypresses and sometimes eucalyptus
