All the following names are valid and it is (or it should be) on the author of the MO observations which one to pick and use:
Species Fungorum
Current Name:
Xerocomellus truncatus (Singer, Snell & E.A. Dick) Klofac, Öst. Z. Pilzk. 20: 39 (2011)

Boletus truncatus (Singer, Snell & E.A. Dick) Pouzar, Česká Mykol. 20: 2 (1966)
Xerocomus chrysenteron f. truncatus (Singer, Snell & E.A. Dick) Satata, Acta Mycologica, Warszawa 7(1): 13 (1971)
Xerocomus truncatus Singer, Snell & E.A. Dick, Mycologia 51(4): 573 (1960) 1959
I prefer Boletus truncatus (Singer, Snell & E.A. Dick) Pouzar, since I was close to Pouzar in years 1963 through 1969 and I trust his taxonomical judgement. I think it should be up to the author of the observation to change the observation name. “Concemsus” and “deprecation” are marvelous products of the “citizen science”, the hole into which MO is slowly slipping. Adolf
