Notes: These were growing almost completely underground near mixed conifers @ ~ 4900 ft.
Caps up to 7.6 cm across.
Spores ~ 9.9-11.9(13.0) X 5.9-6.0(8.0)microns, elliptical to elongate and rough.
Q(ave) = 1.67.
No distinctive odor and mild taste.
KOH on cap light red/orangy.
KOH on stem similar but lighter.
KOH on flesh neg. to trace pinkish.
Did not see any bluish tints on stem or elsewhere but they do seem similar to C. subolivascens in all other respects. Drew Parker mentions a pale form in one of his Obs.(?)
