We are using (or misusing) MO for storing all the jpegs (photos and drawings) that go with the actual collections and our names on MO should match those on the herbarium labels. If you check MyCopPortal, you will see that this species is most often filed as Dasyscyphus bicolor (235 specimens) or Lachnum bicolor (70). All of those are homotypic synonyms. Herbarium rats have not got used to Capitotricha bicolor (3 specimens) yet. Our collections go to the University of British Columbia herbarium (UBC) where there are only 5 collections of this species labelled “Dasyscypha bicolor” and none under any other name. We should have gone for Dasyscypha bicolor, but Lachnum bicolor is easier to type. The fungus itself does not care how it is called. AC
