Recognized by sight: Growing on Hemlock in state park. Noticed fungal growth and went to check it out. appears to have been ripped off the tree by someone presumably for medicinal use. When I first approached it what was left on the tree resembled Ganoderma pore surface, and upon breaking it off from the tree I was able to find some of the red-brown smooth surface that many species of Ganoderma have. Since this was on Hemlock I am calling it tsugae, I will be cloning some of the pieces. I plan to return at the end of the summer to see if the fruit bodies grow back.
