These lichens were found on the same short twig, presumably blown off in the last big windstorm. The twig was only 8-inches long, and both of these lichens were firmly attached. While differing greatly in appearance and coloration, I believe they may be the same thing.


Lime green thallus. Bluntly lobed.
White to pale green thallus, with black spots. Pointed tips.
Back of blunt-lobed thallus is shiny black.
Back of pointed thallus is black, but not shiny No cilia on either.
