Growing under Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock and Douglas-fir.

Sadly, the specimen rotted before I could dry it.

I have collected similar grisettes …

with fulva/-ish colored caps and orange, ornamented stipes, at Salt Point SP. They also decayed before I could dry them.

The trouble with amanitas … they are the personification of perishable.

Who knows how many cryptic species there are out there, though?
