Observation 167254: Ischnoderma resinosum (Schrad.) P. Karst.

Notes: Growing from the underside of a log, probably beech. Softish and somewhat spongy to the touch, like one expects with young I. resinosum. But I associate this species with autumn, when it is very common at this location.
