Notes: Boletus edulis Bull. ex Fr. Boletaceae, Agaricales. (King Bolete. Белый гриб или гриб-боровик).

Cap: 8-25cm convex up to broadly convex; surface is smooth brown or yellowish-brown, minor reddish-brown, sometimes old cap crossed with radial and concentrically cracks (fast change from wet up to hot and dry time). Odor is fragrant. Flesh is white. Tubes: almost attached, often sunken up around old stalk, color from white or yellowish-white up to greenish-yellow. Stalk: 8-20cm long, color whitish up to cream or dull light brown; 3-7cm thick, enlarged down; stalk surface looks as covered with fine fabric as indistinct spider web.
Habitat: rare kind in this forest; scattered up to small groups very locally in pine-tree forest, usually with single birches among pine-trees.
Edibility: delicious (several methods of cooking).
July – August.
