Notes: This newly emerged button had more red on the cap than with more mature versions. I can see why this has been confused with B. bicolor. Virtually no staining/bruising on this one. One main difference from bicolor is the very pale context of miniato-olivaceus.
KOH on cap did not show a yellow phase as described by BRB. Color went immediately to olive green and then segued into a shiny metallic green. Except for the lack of yellow, this is pretty close to what BRB reports. KOH ws not applied until several hours after the mushroom was collected.
