Observation 167778: Gymnopilus sapineus (Fr.) Murrill
When: 2014-06-17
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

Two collections seen here. They look so much alike, it’s difficult to imagine they are different. Spores from collection A approximately 7-9.5 × 4.5-5.5 were obtained from a spore drop. No spores dropped from collection B, but ones seen when gill was mounted were a bit smaller than from A (6.5-8.5 × 4-5), possibly because they were immature.

Really beautiful orange caps with a velvety appearance from a distance.
