where leaf litter from bordering oak-dominated forest has accumulated and mixed with the soil. So aside from resembling a Leucopaxillus, the habitat seems to check. I didn’t actually observe a spore measurement, but many observed were clearly longer than 5.5 mu, and the quotient approached 2.0 on some. So this rules out L. laterarius.
