Observation 168102: Peziza violacea Pers.
When: 2014-06-21
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found at 4100 ft. elevation at Blewett pass summit. These were far larger and more deeply violet colored on and below outside margin than those we found here 3 weeks ago.

Found beneath charred Ponderosa pine, larch, Doug fir and Mountain Hemlock.

Temp: mid 70’s.

Massive fire occurred here during summer 2012.

We’ve been lucky to find these at the “vibrant colored stage” each visit to the burn sites this season.
Unfortunately, not one morel here yet.
