Observation 168265: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray
When: 2014-06-24

Notes: Small brown capped fungi with central area light brown tending light yellow at centre of cap. Single specimen found growing in loose forest soil near Eucalyptus forest and brackish river. Distinctive annulus ring near bulbous base of stipe. Unable to procure a definite spore colour but could be light brown. Cap lost colour after removing from habitat. Outer edge of cap was slightly sticky to touch. Specimen destroyed. Did not dry successfully.

Michael, I do not have one, but there should be some other way to check, I would imagine?

That’s a nice one, it looks like it could be a Leprocybe, do you have a UV light you could use to check for fluorescence?
