Notes: There seems to be a fair amount of confusion surrounding these red-capped Leccinums. This one comes from a spot where oak and hemlock mingle. The scabers are mainly dark brown, but not black. Stipe base showed a small amount of bluing. Insect damage caused the staining of context difficult to judge. But there seemed to be a slow progression from dull pinkish to grayish on the cut context.
