already read that detail some time ago, and now you reminded me, thanks, and vieweing Boletales photos again, I see that the red stains that I saw on the middle of the stipe are completely different. Stem is orange only on the tip of the stem base, almost nothing… but well, the color is persistant after drying.

boletales.com, X. rubellus has red dots on the flesh of the stipe base. Both X. armeniacus and X. persicolor have yellow/orangish flesh on the stipe base, fading in the former and persistent on drying in the latter. So, maybe, is one of these species.
